EPRI knowledge

EPRI knowledge is a 36 month-project of the 6th Framework Programme of the European Union. It’s aim is to actively raise awareness of Information Society Technologies among parliamentarians from the EU, national and regional levels.

EPRI knowledge supports the dissemination of results of the EC's Information Society Technologies (IST) programme and fosters political debates.

EPRI knowledge participants are parliamentarians from European, national and regional levels, interested in Information Society Technologies and IST related themes. EPRI knowledge participants are also members of the Information Society Technologies community interested in political contacts.

EPRI knowledge offers the following services

Studies

The three studies carried out within the project conduct new original research on ICT-related topics. They thus aim at developing knowledge and understanding of Information Society Technologies issues among EU, national and regional parliamentarians. The studies shall feed parliamentarian debates on innovative Information Society Technologies demands, solutions and strategies.

Workshops

During the lifetime of the project 6 workshops offer a communication platform for parliamentarians with special expertise in Information Communication Technologies (ICT) and ICT related decision making. The workshops assist in the development of policy and collaborative working practises across parliamentarians on Information Society Technologies and related issues.

Conferences

Three conferences work their way from the exchange of experiences towards vision building among parliamentarians towards leadership development as regards the implementation of ICT for the sake of good governance.The conferences facilitate access to other parliamentarians and the wider dissemination to the Information Society Technologies community.

Communication networking & dissemination

The website and the EPRI knowledge secretariat act as a direct channel to EU, national and regional parliamentarians, providing them with Information Society Technologies news, information about the Information Society Technologies Programme and the latest technologies developments and innovations.
The EPRI knowledge website www.epri.org also provides information on studies, workshops, conferences carried out within the project and on Information Society Technologies related themes.
